It was a good friend's birthday and so wanted to try this place called Melt in San Francisco's North Beach. Can't say how good fondue always is and to be sitting in this quaint area of SF, couldn't be better to share food and wine.

Here's what happened: I was eating salad [of all things] and I accidentally bit my fork. I knew it was gonna be bad so I had to check the mirror and yup there it is: I CHIPPED MY TOOTH. Luckily, my dentist was kind enough to fix it for me on a short notice. =)

Here's my cat ISO [yes, named after camera setting ISO] sleeping in the afternoon with me. I woke up and here he is situated right in my armpit. haha He also snores too which is funny [I admit, I snore too..] and I actually recorded it. Most of the time, he's very energetic and plays pretty rough sometimes--got the scars to prove it. But when I'm taking a nap or if he's attention hungry, he'll be nice at times.

It was my dear friend Donna's 23rd birthday [pictured above]] and she wanted to just invite a few friends over at her house to have a simple wine and dessert evening. [Wine and Sprinkles cupcakes to be specific =) ]. She's been my friend since freshman year and it's definitely a blessing to still talk and see her to this day. The other friends she invited too were all part of close-knit group from high school so couldn't have been any better.

ADLs: Swimming Lesson

My cousin asked if I could take my nephew to his swimming lesson in South San Francisco and thought it be a quick way to spend some time with him. Haven't been in a public swimming pool in awhile and since it is summer, dozens of kids were around and in the pool with parents and guardians waiting in the bleachers looking on. After his 30 minute lesson, he showered and prepped himself to go back to daycare. Brief moments like this are always nice!

I picked up a temp job in a web company in San Francisco and I haven't been in a cubicle for so long. Today was my first day and I will say the best part was eating lunch the company provided. Turkey sandwich with real bacon and avocado. Nice.

As far as my job title, it's data entry. I logged in 2,200 companies today in the database for their sales reps in 5 hours. I think that's a lot.

ADLs: Solitude

I went to Green Apple Books in San Francisco and I just love this place. You go in there without even knowing what you want and surely you'll come out with a great book and price to go along with it. I usually stay on the main floor but my girlfriend and I ventured upstairs which I don't recall visiting. Ever.

In one of the rooms upstairs I stumbled upon this lone student's chair surrounded by ceiling high bookshelves and just thought what a place to read.

My haul for the evening was two Frida Kahlo books (my favorite non photographer artist)--Frida Kahlo (Emma Dexter and Tanya Barson) and Frida Kahlo: The Still Lifes (Solomon Grimberg). If I were to buy these on Amazon it would've cost me $70+. I only paid $17.68 =)

On the side note, I realized I haven't posted anything under the ADL's label series [to be exact, since November 28, 2009] and will definitely continue to do so.

Went with my girlfriend to her cousin's house in San Jose to have a post Thanksgiving dinner. Enjoyed the food and company as usual. I love the small things they have in their house--the mix of French posters, their pictures everywhere, and little neat things like this retro clock.

Which reminds me, remember that Got Milk? commercial with that baby and this cat clock filmed in black and white? Maybe? Ok nevermind.

I went to the park with my girlfriend so I can give her a quick lesson on photography [she recently bought the Canon Rebel T1i]. I was teaching her on "extreme framing"--I couldn't come up with another name for it--and gave her an example with this picture.

Not the typical "cap and gown" picture but it is a picture of it as I picked it up today at school. My days are numbered at USF as a nursing student but it still hasn't really settled on me yet. There's still unfinished business that I need to take care [notably my HESI exam which is equivalent to my real ticket out of here].
