Dim Sum King: Mother's Day Dinner
As of now, we are all at Dim Sum King in Ranch 99 (Daly City). For some reason we always go here for special occassions but can't blame the family--it's all good food here. I just got in trouble by my mom for drinking Tsingtao when my uncle gave it to me. =/ It tasted good too!
Photoshoot: Kaylee

This is my neice Kaylee. My cousin asked to do a quick photo for her party giveaways--a 2x3 frame with her picture inside and this is the end product of a 5 minute shoot. The background? My cousin just held her in front of his chest while having a white blanket placed there.
Did minor adjustments to the photo--a quick brightening and sharpening but otherwise, it was good to go.
My other favorite photo:

How cute is that. =D
Mother's Day
This is my aunty on the left and my mom on the right...they're sisters too! We just came from church and we decided to get some soup at TK Noodle on this cold Sunday. Dinner scheduled tonight per tradition.

This is the Special Ticket
Today, I took my first ever (and for the program's Junior I first time too) HESI exam. 55 questions in 90 minutes. This is ticket we all had to buy for $25+...shouldve been free but oh well. A C grade is 850 and well.. Let's just say I was a little below that... A little. Haha

CCD Report Cards
Tomorrow is my final class even though classes officially end on May 24 (I'm the primary godfather for my cousin's daughter and I have to be in the ceremony the same time the final class is for CCD). Real quick, CCD is those Catholic Christian Doctrine...aka...Saturday morning church school. I teach 7th grade which focuses on Morality. So we've touched on hot topic issues like euthanasia, death penalty, abortion, sex, peer pressure and etc. It's been a real fun year and tomorrow per request I got them hamburgers @ Jollibee (aka "Yumbergers"). My mom is helping out by getting some Capri Suns and some home made brownies. We're usually not allowed to have parties in those classrooms but hey, I somehow have to be the coolest teacher. Anywhoo, I'm writing their report cards and all of them honestly are good kids. Real cool seeing kids' thought processes develop within a year. :tear:
Huckfinn Lit Paper due Monday
I barely go to USF's library but this time I am here to get some resources for my Huckfinn paper. I'm basically going to write about the whereabouts of Huck Finn's morality in the novel and discuss its origins and all that. I sure hope I finish this by tomorrow because I have two more finals to worry about!

Last day of clinicals...
Finally!! After 13 or so weeks @ Seton Hospital...we are finally done here at our clinical rotation. I've seen open wounds, attempted IV's (didn't have any luck starting one!), hip/knee replacements (yyep...the surgeons used saws and hammers and mallets), and gave the usual nursing care (AM care baths, ambulating, administer meds, etc). After our last day, we all ate out at Elephant Bar and once I got home, I knocked out.

My photography classroom
I'm here at George Washington Elementary School's multi use room....man....remember multi use rooms? The ones in grade school where you use it for lunch, school wide announcements, and shows/plays on stage? Anywhoo, I'll be teaching photography here for the next 6 weeks to 5th graders I'd like to say. It's once a week, one hour sessions and hopefully by the end, the kids learn something and come to appreciate art in some way. Or hopefully they just all have fun.

Exams Coming Up
Here I am in front of my notes for one of my nursing classes "Principles and Methods of Medical Surgical-Nursing. For one week I've been reviewing and rewriting my notes and just today I just finished rewriting all 10 classes worth of material into 9 pieces of binder paper (wrote small indeed). Tomorrow is my final for this class and then up next is an exam on Saturday May 5 called the HESI (almost like a pre-NCLEX exam) and then the following week is my finals week. Sigh.
Araki at Borders
After USF's nursing Tri Gamma's fashion show, I decided to stop by at Borders in Stonestown to browse. If any of yall don't subscribe to Border's rewards...do so! I have them text me their coupons so I decided to use the 30% coupon. While browsing through the photo books, came across this photo book featuring Japanese photographer Araki. I personally haven't see his work but just heard him through an interview in Vapors Magazine. Haven't added a photo book in my collection in awhile so here's another.

Friend's Baby Welcoming
Today is my friend's baby welcoming...they actually planned to have the baby shower last month but they had the baby the same day!! So they postponed the lunch to today at Fresh Choice in El Camino. First time eating here and it's not bad at all considering there's so much salad and other healthy choices...it's all good though when there's an unlimited ice cream machine.

Basketball @ Brisbaine
Every Friday 1:30pm my friends from middle school and I play ball here. We know that the new War Memorial reopened in Daly City but you have to pay $2 to enter and you're not guaranteed to play with your own team--you sign up in 5s and there's a rotation. So we all drive 10 min to get here where no one rarely plays (although last week another group showed up and that's when I got dropped to the floor after one of them jumped from my behind and clipped me for a rebound... ) Nevertheless we get our games going on here.

Tanforan's Century Theatres: Harold & Kumar...
....Escape From Guantanamo Bay was hilarious!! Watched it with my cousin and the people behind "Lumpia." I didn't even see the first one and this movie was just funny the entire time. Rated R and I couldn't believe someone brought his kid to see it! They sat one row behind and all I remember hearing was "What's that?" The dad would reply "It's nothing....don't worry about it" Jeez!!
